Responses & automations

Automations: sending responses where you work

Categories, rules, tags and webhooks.

Automations has two parts.

Categories

What responses get sorted into. Give each a name and a one-line description of when it applies, as you would explain it to a new teammate. Better descriptions mean better sorting.

Rules

A rule reads as a sentence: when a response is [category] and urgency is [level] and not spam, then [action]. Actions:

  • Add a tag: a label you see in Responses and can filter on.
  • Send to a webhook: a copy of the response and its labels is posted to a URL you provide. This is how you reach Slack, Zapier, Make, HubSpot and most other tools.
  • Email me: coming soon.

Spam never triggers a rule unless the rule itself is about spam. Save changes; they apply to new responses immediately.

Describe it instead

If "Describe what you want" is available in your workspace, type the rule in plain language, review the result, and save.
